Elimu Africa
Elimu Africa is a small grassroots organization founded by a group of volunteers from the United States of America who have been touched by the beauty and the hardships of the people of Africa. They currently focus their efforts in Northeast Tanzania. Elimu Africa has provided Jiendeleze Women's Group with grants to purchase chickens, pigs, sewing machines and solar lights, which you can see here. One of the Elimu Africa board members continues to be a mentor, friend and avid supporter of Jesca and Jiendeleze. We thank them whole heartedly for their support. Union Cafe
Owned by KNCU, Kilimanjaro Native Cooperative Union which is the oldest co-operatiive in Africa, started in 1929. This coffee place is very European style. They have large variety of special coffees, small lunches and pizza. This is also the only place in town where you can get (very delicious) cheese cake.
